Mineral Management Program

The State Land Department encourages the responsible development of mineral resources and manages three statewide leasing programs.  Similar to the classification of minerals on federal land, lease administration on state land recognizes the following  three classifications:

Natural Resource Conservation District Program

Natural Resource Conservation Districts (NRCDs)
NRCDs are sub-divisions of the Arizona State Land Department. Some NRCDs in Arizona are organized under tribal law. Governed by locally elected officials, Districts evaluate the conservation needs of their respective areas
