Environmental Contamination Prevention & Remediation Program
The Environmental Contamination Prevention and Remediation program is responsible for protection of soil, surface and groundwater, and air quality on State Trust land. The program responds to and investigates environmental contamination by regulated substances from illegal activities and lessee operations on State Trust land.

The program reviews and approves lease applications, contractor proposals, Phase I and II and remedial action reports. The program also manages contaminated land remediation projects and fugitive dust issues on Trust Land.
Reporting Illegal Activity
If you observe or suspect illegal dumping or other activity involving hazardous or regulated materials on Trust land, call your local law enforcement agency (city or county) and report the incident. If you encounter hazardous materials on Trust land keep a safe distance and call the Land Department at 602 542-2119 or the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Emergency Response Unit at 602 771- 2300.
